Stemming from a fascination with animals and their hybridisation, Simeon Tan’s watercolour paintings amalgamate elements from various animals so as to highlight the diversity of the life on earth. In this particular painting, Tan’s chimaeric Chameo carefully approaches a Queen Alexandra's Birdwing – a butterfly species from Australia. The painting reflects on the food web within the animal kingdom and cycles of life.

A graduate of Pathlight, Simeon further obtained a distinction at NAFA CLE Certificate in Visual Arts in 2021 and is on track in pursuit of his creative potentials.
