A long forgotten sight of the old Singapore days, when Indian women labourers worked in groups to harvest coconuts in overgrown fields of weeds.. Although the work was demanding, the hardworking women persevered to earn a meagre living allowance.

Ah Wat started her journey in craft after witnessing a class at the Handicaps Welfare Association. She later joined ART:DIS’s Crafters Guild to expand her knowledge and hone her skills. To date, her portfolio includes candle-making, pottery, paper-cutting and wood-working. She is also a skilled painter whose medium of choice is Chinese ink.
