Jointly organised by ART:DIS and the National Arts Council, the fifth edition of the Arts & Disability Forum (ADF) saw over 500 individuals from the Arts/Cultural, Social Service, Education and Policy-Making sectors convening to discuss best practices in arts access.
Under the theme Enabling Aspirations, Diversifying Pathways, participants attended workshops, plenary sessions and film screenings to discover how the field’s continuum of services supports the well-being, professional development and leadership of D/deaf, disabled and neurodiverse persons in the arts. Insightful and thought-provoking, many participants shared that their understanding of the needs of persons with disabilities have increased and close to 100% agreed that they are more encouraged to collaborate with others to make the arts more accessible. Here are some highlights from the forum, with the full plenary session available for viewing here.
